I saw my first firefly of the season the other night and it caused me to remember the lullaby that I wrote (actually God wrote) down one morning. It all started the day that my daughter showed me the sonogram of my first grandchild; it was one of those God moments. I couldn't believe this tiny little baby boy (who was doing a rapid backstroke at the time) was a part of me. What a wonder it was. All I thought about that night when I went to bed was this precious child and the miracle of creation. All night long I kept hearing a tune in my head which I soon began to hear the tune with words; this actually happens to me quite often. I even dream complete scenes of my stories with the characters chatting back and forth with one another. When I got up that morning I quickly wrote down the words. Later my adopted daughter would write the musical notes to the tune for me. I hope to publish a children's book about it one day; about the antics of Eli as we watched him every Friday for that first year. For now I'm sharing the lullaby with you. : )
SNOWFLAKES & FIREFLIES ~ Eli's Lullaby
Snowflakes and Fireflies
The wonder is before your eyes
God has created all things
He sent down from above
Family and friends to love
He'll never leave you alone
Snowflakes and Fireflies
The wonder is before your eyes
God has created all things
When the world tries to close you in
Stop and begin again
Remember the simplest of gifts
Like Snowflakes and Fireflies
The wonder is before your eyes
God has created all things
He has created all things
